How to Wear a Sawako Helmet this Season
As we always say, there is a Sawako helmet for any outfit—like a great handbag, a Sawako helmet is designed to be a timeless staple to every fashionista’s closet. But this season, we can say there is a Sawako helmet for every trend, too. Harper’s Bazaar recently broke down some of the styles this fall/winter, and inspired by the best designers, we selected Sawako helmets to match. Which helmets would you pick?
Animal Print
The fashion industry is rescuing animal print from kitsch territory this season by paring outfits down, which is a perfect idea for bicycling. Think, “less soap opera, more Sawako.” To achieve the much-needed balance when attempting this look, we suggest a simple outfit: your fall trench coat, flats, and the eternally popular, and often selling out, Leopard helmet. Covered with faux animal skin, this helmet adds the right amount of Queen-of-the-Concrete-Jungle to your style, without going overboard.
Modesty
Among other designers going modest this fall, Erdem’s evening dresses are rocking high necklines and low hemlines. To match the style of the times, we’re donning the Floral helmet. The Floral helmet is simply beautiful. Modelled after one of the founder’s favorite items, this helmet would go great with a vintage dress. Didn’t we tell you that fans of Erdem would love this helmet?
Gloss
Vinyl, latex, plastic, or leather—Chanel, Simone Rocha, and Fendi add a metallic veneer to their models’ looks with these high-shine fabrics. Harper’s Bazaar calls it subversive. We call it the Python Black. Our newest sexy, hand-finished helmet, the Python Black will give your outfit the perfect edge. Or, try this look with any of our glossy Eye Candy helmets.
Statement headwear
Just in time for the winter weather, Calvin Klein, Gucci, and Preen topped their models’ heads with a range of head pieces, such as knit balaclavas. Our pick? While any Sawako helmet adds an aspect of flair to your outfit, we’re going with the Navy Glitter helmet for this one. Deep blue and elegant, when this helmet catches the right light, it shimmers.
Tweed
Harper’s Bazaar says that tweed will add an air of “heritage chic” to your wardrobe this season. Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu reach this effect by playing with textures—like pairing tweed with leather. While we don’t have a tweed helmet, we do have the ever-popular Ran helmet. The Ran helmet is covered with tactile leather, so you can achieve the same regal effect. Especially if you have a tweed coat or skirt to go with it.
Leather
We love Givenchy’s green leather coats and Loewe’s leather dresses this fall. It looks like this trend is coming in different shapes and sizes this season: from skirts, to trousers, to (gasp!) bicycle helmets! Frequently worn by Pippa Middleton, the Sawako Crocodile Black is one of our most highly-desired helmets. Covered with faux-crocodile leather, its hand-finished covering adds a little extra class to a luxe outfit.
Hoods
Versace, Margiela, Balenciaga, and Valentino all offered their takes on feminine hooded cloaks this season. Harper’s Bazaar aptly points out that this creates a “fairytale effect.” Have you met the Python Red?
